FISH!! Your work looks awesome and matches the reference very well! My recommendation would be to add some denting into the metal to give it more of the hand-made feel. Great job!
Looking good so far! You've really nailed the basic shapes and primary details. Going forward make sure you give us some secondary and tertiary details, I think you've got all or at least most of your edges looking good but the flat surfaces need a little more texture to give it the proper oomph.
Great job! I'd only say add a bit more detail to the wood part of the cannon and if I were to be nitpicky I'd also say make the eyelid of the fish go a bit over the eye to make it look more angry like the reference photo.
Good job on sculpting the cannon! I think you match the reference pretty well. I common is to maybe add more sculpted textures on separating the materials? The dent for the woods can be more defined.
I know there isn't a lot of detail in your reference but having some wood detail to help tell the wood apart from the metal would break up the shapes a bit. Right now everything sort of blends together. Really cool sculpt on the fish.
Hello Dylan, I really like how the organic shapes of the fish with the cannon blend and overall it is looking really solid. One thing that I would recommend is to start carving the detail for the wood blocks and maybe considering separating some of the sections of your wooden mount to match more of the shape of it.
Your reference and mesh match nicely! I wish there was a bit more affection shown towards the wood. For example, the plank that is on the side of the base has some worn edges and small crack. Same goes higher up on the base, to see a little more ware on it. Your fish cannon barrel looks amazing! The fin's look great!
Great work!!! Your sculpt matches the reference really well. I would recommend making the wheels more circular even though the reference looks like that.
Hello Dylan, I'm a big fan, I would like your autograph after this if you are not upset with me for destroying you with mad critique and griddy. Now to roast you, your second shot I don't know if it was rendered or the floor was just off but you are missing a shadow also you aren't using AO or softening those shadows buddy. I think the fish sculpt could also be sharper. That being said, however, I think you nailed getting the right shapes and I can tell you're really trying to match your reference and so far it's looking really nice. Seni Seviyorum. Turkiye Mentioned. What the heck is economy. God Bless

ReplyDeleteLittle bit too much edge wear on the bottom portion of the cannon. It's starting to warp the shape. The top part is much cleaner.
ReplyDeleteFISH!!

ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with how much it looks like the reference! Bump up some of the wear and tear on the wood parts and your golden.
